Ecuador is a multi-ethnic and cultural state, its population exceeds 16 million people. The most important cities are: Guayaquil, Quito and Cuenca. The culture of Ecuador is very diverse thanks to the ethnic and regional diversity in the country. 18 nationalities of the indigenous people and 14 nationality of the peoples of different traditions live in the three continental regions. Spanish is the most language spoken in Ecuador. Ecuador is deemed a part of Andean region. That’s why there are a lot of traditional festivals of old origins prior to the Latins, and a number of festivals of the Mediterranean sea culture brought by the Spanish during the colonial period.
